Master Your Time, Energy, and Tasks: A Simple Rule That Works

We usually have many tasks to complete. To get work done, we rely on three key resources: time, money, and energy. Money and energy can be regenerated with effort, but time cannot be recovered. That’s why we must learn to work effectively within the time we have. Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day.

To complete tasks, we constantly make decisions. An average person makes around 1,600 decisions daily—what to eat, what to cook, whether to pick up children from school, and many other small choices. These may seem minor, but they still consume mental energy and affect task completion.

Task Threshold

In life, we often handle multiple tasks simultaneously. However, everyone has a different capacity for managing parallel work. A useful rule of thumb is:

Maximum parallel tasks you think you can handle – 2

For example:

  • If you believe you can handle 7 tasks at once, focus on 5
  • If you can handle 3 tasks, focus on just 1

This helps prevent overload and improves effectiveness.

Task Saturation

Task saturation occurs when too many tasks come in randomly and its seems all task are equal importance at the level of priority , and you feel stuck. You become unable to decide what to do next, which lowers your confidence.

The best way to overcome this is simple:
Start with the task that takes the least time to complete. Finish it, then move to the next shortest task.

This approach creates momentum. As you complete tasks, your confidence grows, and you naturally come out of the stuck state.

Our mind is designed for survival. When overwhelmed, it pushes us to avoid, escape, or delay. But that is not a real solution—it only postpones the problem.

If you want to thrive, you must take action regardless of what your mind tells you. Focus on the smallest task, complete it, and keep moving forward. As tasks get completed, your confidence increases, and momentum builds.

“Unlock Your Determination: Tips for Building a Stronger Mindset” I The Consultant Mindset

Hey guys I hope you are doing great. Welcome back to our channel the consultant mindset. Before we dive into our new video remember to subscribe to our channel. Life is all about struggles and challenges. Some of us remain dedicated throughout this whole process while some lose hope and start to get demotivated.  A person becomes demotivated due to a reason like being unable to get his interest in the task. The task done without any rewards or fun bears no fruit at all. A fresh student always takes initiative with all his might and it is human nature to remain boosted at the beginning of any task. The real task is to remain motivated and consistent in the entire journey. To keep up that motivation, we have to suffer with a lot of hardships and difficulties. But in the end, we succeed in achieving them. How do the students remain dedicated towards their tasks? It requires a lot of effort to remain dedicated and consistent in what you do. Motivation is not something you can get on the plate.

Is It Normal to Never Feel Motivated While Studying?

The answer to this question is yes, it is alright if you don’t feel the spark of motivation all the time. Humans have emotions and they are unable to remain lively and cheerful all the time. This is what differentiates us from robots.

How can we ignite ourselves to remain motivated? What are those strategies by which we can approach persistent dedication and mastership to remain motivated?

Set Clear Goals

Setting goals is quite significant in the journey of accomplishment. A self-aware person and sensible person is always bestowed with this knowledge of what he wants in his life. A journey without objectives is just like you are wandering in the dark without any luminescence. Setting goals makes everything clear to you. When the path is known to you, achieving the journey won’t be a difficult task for you. While setting goals, your goals must be measurable and achievable. It is important to take this thing into account that goals which are practically impossible to achieve should not be taken into consideration. Aiming for immeasurable goals wastes the time and effort of an individual. It is better to work smart rather than hard. As a student, if you want to complete your study goals then it is required to set some easy measurable goals. This way the thought of achieving the measurable goal won’t lower your energy.

Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there.

Create a Schedule

Creating a schedule for studies not only organises your life but also makes you feel motivated. Creating a well-structured study schedule can indeed induce motivation and help you stay on track with your studies. A schedule provides a sense of order, clarity, and purpose, making it easier to manage your time effectively. You can initiate this by building the timetable with your existing commitments of classes, homework and extracurricular activities. Determine how much time you have available for all your important chores.

Set Priorities

Setting priorities holds a significant importance in a student’s life. Students have deadlines and due dates in their assignments and projects so they need to prioritise those things that are of great interest. The assignments and projects which need to be submitted earlier should be completed first. This way it will release a sense of accomplishment and make the student feel motivated. Focus on those objectives which have a greater impact on your lives.

To those of you who received honours, awards and distinctions, I say well done. And to the C students, I say you, too, can be president of the United States.

George W. Bush

Staying Committed While Studying

It is necessary to stay committed while studying because commitment is something that needs to be fulfilled. Dedication is possible only when you remain sincere with yourself. We tend to lose motivation when it comes to an end. the level of motivation and dedication should not get distracted by the surroundings. Always remain committed to yourself and to your goals as well. Staying committed can be challenging but it is necessary in achieving your academic goals.

Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.

Paul J. Meyer

Stay Inspired

Studying books, articles or newspapers related to your field can help you remain dedicated and committed to your goal. Always try to remain involved in the matters that can aid you in polishing your skills. Ups and downs are part of life and we should not feel lower after facing setbacks or failures. Always aim for high so you can achieve high.

Work on your time management skills

Hard work mainly focuses on quality. And it involves a lot of dedication but the efficiency is less compared to smart work. Smart work leads to the discovery of more efficient ways. Smart work requires less time and brings better results. Whereas hard work is confined to longer hours and untiring efforts. Hard work is done without any planning whereas smart work requires beforehand planning. To do smart work, you have to develop a habit of managing your time. Because you have to save your time to do a greater number of tasks in a shorter amount of time. For smart work, develop a to-do list and write down your tasks on it. Don’t waste your time on unnecessary things. Do one task efficiently instead of starting four- five tasks simultaneously. Because in this way you will end up doing nothing. Do the heaviest tasks at the start of the day because morning brings a lot of energy. So leave the shorter and easiest tasks for the end of the day.

Cultivate creative mindset

You can do smart work by gaining knowledge through formal or informal education. For smart work, you have to train your brain muscles to do better in the area of thinking and creativeness. To train your brain to think creatively. One has to study different articles and practice arts and music. Read different things like novels, manga and some informative books. Your quench and curiosity should never come to an end. For training your brain muscles you should be good with technology and you should never stop acquiring knowledge from different sources. By practicing such activities you can train your brain muscles to think differently from the rest of the world. A creative mindset not only boosts your mood but also makes you find fun in the tasks. In this way, you love to do the task instead of taking it as a tiring responsibility. It gives you an approach to living life differently.

Being adaptive and flexibl

It happens a lot that whenever we fail to achieve our plan we start to think negatively than nothing ever goes our way. However, the best people always have their ways to mend situations. They never fail to inspire the masses. So instead of having a single plan, it is better to have more than one plan. So that if anything happens and you fail to achieve your first plan. You must have your other plans so that the scenario never leaves you empty-handed. Don’t let yourself be stuck in the same situation. Just leave it and let the bygones be bygones. focus on future things. Instead of cursing yourself for the failure of a plan. Lift yourself and go with the remaining plans. Failures will lead you to a successful path one day. And how is it related to smart work? If you are sticking to a single plan and it does not work out in the end then you have no other plan afterward. So you have to repeat the whole process no matter how much time it takes. So it is better to have more productive approaches so that you can learn new things and can train your brain muscles.

In the end, I must say that a productive approach is the only thing required. Be more aware of what you are choosing. Be mindful of the opportunities you are taking. Do not waste your time on taking exhausting opportunities. Go for the concise and efficient pieces of work. That’s all for today’s video. i hope you guys enjoyed it. Byebye
