I was using elevator to come in specific floor. In elevator. small screen shows the different advertisements of gym, restaurant and luxury restaurants. They also show different Quotes.
On that screen I read quote form Jony Ive, Who is Apple’s senior vice.
“The thing is, its very easy to be different, but very difficult to be better.”
I purchased Ipad 7generation 2019 version. And from the day onwards. I used to write all my thoughts on it. I used to make mind maps on it to formularies my ideas.
I feel they implement it in their products. They are better then their competitors.
But question is how we implement it in our life.
Most of the time, we change our look. We make our style different from others. How we speak. “Zarah haat kayee”. Little different. Different look and feel. Different hair style. Color different.
But when we start to become better. either better from what you are yesterday or what you are with your fellow colleague or family member. The idea of competing with yourself is amazing. But in practical life we have to complete others. When two people are of similar education and experience who wins between them. Who have better communication. Who show more then what you are.
Politics is also form of Communication. We expose other person weakness and show our strengths.
I read somewhere. If you did not do politics. You certainly will be under less capable people.
But if we did not have these skills which we show to management. Certainly we will be in very bad situation at that time. So we have to built these qualities. And built or acquiring these skills is the become better. And it really difficult.
Competition is reality. If you did not try to compete, others will defiantly do.
In life we have face cut throat competition. If we did not compete, they will cut our throat. So we have to cut others. Do or die.
So we have to study our opponent know his weakness, know his strength. And built our added advantages. And then we can become better then others.
In fast competitive market fitness is also become part of our profession.
That I did not found while working in Pakistan. Here is also one definition of smart consultant.
Smart in his work but also smart in looks.
Initially I was not considering this point but while sitting with manager. He gave me example. If I have to hire and two candidates of same qualification. One is fat and other is smart healthy guy. Which one I choose. Certainly I will choose the smart one.
One place I heard comments about one manager who is fat and big belly. He can not manage himself how he manage the work.
That’s true my friend. In real life, people try to look different. But actually they need to be better then their competitor. And this competition is really. And you have to accept this challenge.
