I was stuck in the same situation when I felt my software development career was over and I wanted to become a functional consultant.

At that time, I was stuck because I did not stop my old mindset and did not adopt a new mindset.

When you ask your question with scenarios to ask another person, what is your opinion on this? and they are unable to answer your question.

Because they are not in a situation or they cannot see things from their point of view.

And for that reason, you feel stuck, have no guidelines, and have no idea what to do next.

The only thing you can do is step aside and think. You needed a quiet place to start asking questions.

In childhood, I got the right answer to questions. Our condition is that we always know the right answer will lead in the right direction or reach the right conclusion. But actually, that is not right. Answering the right question leads us in the right direction or helps us lead in the right direction.

When it comes to selecting a career, it is crucial to assess the potential benefits and drawbacks of each option. One way to do this is by asking yourself what the upside of a particular career is. By doing so, you can gain a better understanding of the opportunities and rewards that the career path may offer. For example, you may want to consider the potential for career advancement, financial stability, work-life balance, and other factors that are important to you. Taking the time to explore these different aspects can help you make a more informed decision about your future career.

One important aspect to consider when reflecting on your career is to also identify the potential drawbacks or downsides. In doing so, you can gain a more holistic understanding of your chosen profession and the challenges that may arise. Some possible downsides to consider may include job instability, long work hours, limited opportunities for advancement, or high stress levels. Additionally, it is important to acknowledge that what may be a downside for one person may not necessarily be the same for another, as individual experiences and perspectives can vary greatly. By taking the time to reflect on both the positive and negative aspects of your career, you can gain a more well-rounded perspective and make informed decisions about your professional development. Therefore, answering the question, “What is the downside of your career?” can be a valuable exercise in self-reflection and growth.

When making a decision, it is important to consider both the potential benefits and drawbacks. One question to ask oneself is whether they can live with the downside. However, it is also important to take a closer look at the downside and examine any potential ways to mitigate or overcome it. It may also be helpful to weigh the potential positive outcomes against the potential negative outcomes to determine if the decision is truly worth it. So, can you live with the downside? It’s a question worth asking, but it is by no means the only question to consider when making an important decision.

Most of the time, we took emotional decisions. And become rational that we must have to adopt that career.

But certainly, we have to think differently. We have to see things in their actual form. what they are.

Sometimes we live with fanaticism. We have to see and analyze what is actually right for us.

We also decide what skills you require to get this position. Do you already have these skills, or can you acquire them? how much time it takes to acquire these skills. Or these are possible.

To effectively address a problem or situation, it is necessary to take the time to pause and reflect. This involves not only thinking about the obvious questions, but also taking a holistic approach to the situation at hand. By doing so, one can gain a deeper understanding of the issue and identify potential solutions that may not have been apparent at first glance. Therefore, it is important to set aside ample time to contemplate and carefully consider all relevant aspects of the problem, so as to arrive at the best possible outcome.

There is common saying 50 percent solution of any problem is finding a reason why this happen.

So its very important to find the reasons why we procrastinate.

There are several disadvantage of procrastination. When we delay things. Tasks pill up and results in stress. When some one works on their dream. And we procrastinate our actions to achieve our dreams and later we give up. that results in guilt and anxiety. I saw many people were saying something “I wish I started that time”.

Basic reasons procrastination is resistance for change. Or Resistance in taking action. Action requires a lot of efforts, discipline and hard work. Some times we procrastinate our dreams due to results are not coming.

For example for weight loss, I decided to do exercise daily. After one week when results were not coming. I started to delay the exercise. My mind starts to give me following reasons to delay Tomorrow I will do, In the evening I will do. And as results that evening or tomorrow never comes.

One of best way to identify reasons is to make a list of task we delay. There is possible we have different reasons for procrastinate things or possible similar pattern appears for similar or different tasks.

If we look closely, there are many things we did not procrastinate. We started working on these things and finish them. for Identify why we procrastinate, we have to built two list of tasks or things.

In one list we to mention mention all task. which we did not delay. And second list is of task which we procrastinate regard less of reason.

Now you have list of task you delayed. You can explore each task one by one and note down. Why you delay these tasks. Pattern of reasons starts to appear.

For example. Task is tough or we did not have skill to finish the task. We are not confident enough or possible we want too much perfection.

Solution to procrastination is massive actions. Start taking small steps. force ourselves to built momentum. When momentum built things started to finish.

Use 10 minute rule. We have to force ourselves to just focus on task only 10 minute. When 10 minute over, Just force for 10 minute more. And things start to happens. Most of time when we are doing things first time only start is tough and when this sense of resistance overcome we starts working.
