Some times, I found that time is running fast. Days, night and then week ends comes fast. We busy ourselves too much. And we forget what is important to us. The living style is too expensive. And we are struggling to much to maintain us. We spent on things which not required. We can impress others. We can survive without these things.
Rumi write this fast place life as moving fast placing boat in creek. It feels trees on the shore are moving very fast. But actually our time is passing and we are moving towards death, our departure from this world.
This boat takes us which direction, we dont know. We are just moving with boat. The fast placing boat. We need to take pause. understand were we are going. Ask right question, is this right direction ?. What we see moving around the creek? is it illusion or reality. What we are thinking and what is our actual reality. Either we are living in fantasy or we living in reality. reality check is very necessary.
Here boat is symbolic for our Circumstances. Our circumstances takes us in unknown direction. We are moving with it.
It is very similar to situation, that one person is running very fast horse. One person asked him where is going so fast. He replied. I don’t know where horse takes me, I am going there.
Time is passing, we need to control our circumstance not our circumstances control us. It is not easy. But with efforts and struggle, you can change your direction. A lot of efforts required.
