I read a quote on from Buddh “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”
Something similar from Baba Bulleh shah, “ Bulleh shah raab underon milya bulli pher loki” . Little contrdiction between Buddha and Bulleh shah. Buddha talks about peace. But Bulleh shah talk about god. translation is something similar Seek God inside your heart.
The idea god find insider your heart is too old as man kind himself. aham brahmasmi to Ana al Haqq.
Those things beyond my understand. What I think meaning of God live in heart is. You have to clean your heart from the dirt of hate, creed and braise. Only solution to cleanliness is forgive others as well as yourself, let it go. And accept things as its.
I feel in past time people are very simple and its understanding of very simple man. They thought That your all prayers ebadah, will not accepted by God. until you clean your heart. Cleanness of heart, purification of soul is borrowed from pre-Islamic religion of Indo Pak.

I am not scholar. In layman understanding of this verse. friends of Allah, or Wali are clear hearted. without Grieve only those people, who either have peace with their past. Forgive and let it go what happen. Their heart is clear. No fear of future, what happen next they have care about it. These people are just living in present moment. They trust on the hukam of Allah ( Allah ‘s will). They have peace inside. This peace they have to make. either believing or clearing their heart.
So what I understand after reading this quote. I start to making peace with my past.
