What ever you give to universe it comes back to you.

We have to bear the pain of past. What ever you do, how much times you try, meditate, accept it, reject it. You can reduce the pain, make its impact less, but you are unable to reduce it to zero.

I am trying to learn Arabic. While listening on podcast of Anas bukahs I found a Arab thinker and writer. Mustafa Aga, his some words bear the same sorrow, which I am facing today.

There is pain that hurts you and passes, and there is pain that teaches you, and there is pain that changes you, pain is the greatest teacher, but there is pain that changes and does not pass, like the departure of loved ones, the denial of favor, the stabs of those close to them, and the betrayal of those we trusted.

Some times I don’t believe on fate. But same time questions appeared in my mind about bitter realities of life. Are they fate ?

Hindu believe in multiple life called Janam. And when they face some consequences or situation which is beyond their control. They called it consequences of their past life’s deeds. If I saw closely, I feel fate is result of our yesterday or past decision. At least they consider it result of negligence and wrong deeds of past.

When things are beyond our control or we unable to respond these things, we consider it as fate. We justify this as result of decision of some supreme power.

The idea of Hukam in Sikhism is also amazing. They talk about Hukam. Hukam is some thing that happens with Lord God commend.

But true meaning for Hukam what I understand is acceptance. You have to accept everything that beyond your control.

One of my dear and near to heart was young sikh lady. Allah us ko aabaad rakahyee (Pray for her). She never be mine, but I always be her. I always look her as she is daughter of My Nanak. I have to respect her. Due to her faded memories I used to search her in gurus shabad (words).

Hukam razai chullah, naank likya naal. means as per my understanding. “Final decision belongs to Lord, And Naanak is here to describe ( writer) it.”

Living in Punjab, understanding Punjabi. These words are religious to sikh, guru bani. But for me source of surprise and lost jewel of wisdom and source of wisdom.

Then one day I found Punjabi couplet of I think 6 th or 7 th guru. After that it becomes my mantra of meditation. When ever mind start to wondering in past, I recite these words and start focus what it means. It helps me to stay in present moment.

Hukmai anḏar sabẖ ko bāhar hukam na koi

Nānak hukmai je bujẖai ṯa haumai kahai na koi

What I get from this Mantra, shabad or couplet, what ever you called it.

Everything is in acceptance, nothing out side it. ( You have to accept what ever happens, inside inner word)

If you understand hukam O Nanak, there is no ego remains.

The idea of acceptance is good. We face pain, due to our expectation, And most of the time our expectations were due to our ego.

Our ego make us restless.

Same time, Buddhist ideology of detachment is something similar, attachment is cause of suffering.

Attachment means our expectation.

So fate is exist or not, it is written by our deed or written by lord, is beyond my understanding.

But one thing I learn from experience, everything comes back, either it fraud, lie, disrespect, honor, humiliation. or it is love, respect and honor. What ever you give to universe it will come back to you.

Then why we consider it fate, what we gives others will come back.

Remember ” Hukam naa jani bootha royee”. Means, who did not accept the reality, he weeps more.

Sufi mystics and understanding of path.

“Awal Akher aap nu janah, main naa dujah hoow puchanah”

I am starting, I am ending, I dont recogornized another one.

These sufi talk about ultimate by themselves. Some times I feel, these sufis are just rebelion of Orthodox.

Sufi comes from the word suf. Means vail, hiding something. I think it is some kind of adoption of pre islamic religions under the vail.

According to my understanding, Sufisim and spiritualism is two different things. And here I am going to share my own understanding of sufisim without mixing with spiritualism.

The sufi order follow four stages. The terms also used in Islam shiraya law. They did not belongs to shira law. The words are copied from Arabic language that reason feel that these are Islamic term. I dont know any one who covers these four stages. Let me explain, possible you did not agree about these things.

First one is Sharia. Kindly dont confuse with Islamic sharia law. Here Sharia means, the rules, written rules, either made by guru, Peer or any previous sufi. Whom, you are following. Every sufi school of thought have some rule. I dont know either these are written or not, but these rules exist. If you join any sect, You have to fully follow them.

Then comes second stage. when we strictly follow or obey rules. After practicing, we found some experiences, mind start to asking questions. Is there any other way, Can we do things differently, These results can be achieve little better way. At that time sufi starts to change rules. he start to deviate from sharia or instruction left by seniors. That stage called Tariqa. means way. My own way. Its is rebellious stage.

Then comes third stage. Haqiqa. When we start to follow our own way, our experiences shares insights, why those rules were made by seniors, which we had follow in first step. What are the reasons behind them. What were experience seniors had. That is called reality. Also at that time sufi also start to realized that what he learned from his own tariqa, his own way. What are the results.

When sufi covers this stage, when he realized the limitation of laws written by elders, and what is out come he got from his own experiences. He start to make some conclusion, mixture of laws written by his elders and his own experience. That stage called marifat. Marifat meaning is understanding.

Very interestingly when sufi is at Marifat stage. He started to make written law. That his own Disciples started to follow.

These are stages, which any sufi have to pass through. Who covers the whole four. I think most of stopped at tariqat.

With my own understanding, There is many ways, other than what we are following. He can only follow any one. But all path leads to same truth. Its not our right to say wrong to others paths. We have to just focus on our own path.
